프랑스어 사용국가와 지역은 프랑스와 유럽 일부국가뿐만이 아니라 오대양 육대주에 걸쳐 분포한다. 영어를 제외한다면 프랑스어는 전 세계의 각 지역을 포괄하는 유일한 언어이며, 영어와 더불어 유엔과 올림픽의 공식 언어로 사용되는 국제어이기도 한다. 특히 아프리카의 경우 다수의 국가가 프랑스어를 공용어인 동시에 일상 언어로 사용하고 있으며, 한국과 아프리카의 증대하고 있는 사회, 문화, 경제교류에 있어서도 중요한 언어이다. 이에 대한 이해를 통해 프랑스어권 지역 전문가로서의 기초를 다진다.

French speaking countries and regions are distributed not only in France and some parts of Europe, but in all six continents. Except English, French is the only language that covers every part of the world, and is also an international language used as an official language of the Unites Nations and the Olympics with English. Especially in Africa, many countries are using French as a common language and everyday language. It is important for increasing social, cultural and economic interchanges between South Korea and Africa. Through understanding this, we will establish a foundation as a French regional expert.
